SiamReefClub ก่อตั้งจากกลุ่มที่มีความสนใจในการเลี้ยงปลาทะเลเป็นงานอดิเรก ซึ่งกลุ่มนักเลี้ยงเหล่านี้เริ่มรวมตัวกัน และแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้ และวิธีการในการเลี้ยงปลาทะเลอย่างถูกต้อง เริ่มจัดตั้ง Web Site ขึ้นเพื่อให้นักเลี้ยงปลาทะเลทั้งหลายแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลข่าวสารต่างๆ รวมถึงแลกเปลี่ยนปลาและอุปกรณ์ต่างๆต่อกันอีกด้วย และเมื่อกลุ่มนักเลี้ยงปลาทะเลรวมตัวกันมากขึ้น จึงมีความเห็นว่าควรจัดตั้งชมรมคนเลี้ยงปลาทะเลขึ้น และควรมีสถานที่ตั้งอยู่บริเวณสัตว์เลี้ยงสวนจตุจักร โดยใช้ชื่อว่า SiamReefClub โดยเริ่มเปิดชมรมอย่างเป็นทางการเมื่อวันที่ 5 เดือน 5 พ.ศ. 2549 ตั้งแต่บัดนั้นเป็นต้นมา

Siam Reef Club was founded by a group of Thai Aquarists, who wanted to introduce people to the correct
way of keeping a marine aquarium. We begin to build up a website for all aquarists to exchange their ideas and information, as well as livestock and equipment. After we formed a group of keen aquarists, we all agreed and decided to set our club in the Jatujak area. Our club was soon opened on May the 5th, 2006.

1. เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้ ประสบการณ์ในการเลี้ยงปลาทะเลและปะการังทั้งกับผู้ที่เริ่มหัดเลี้ยงและที่เลี้ยงอยู่แล้ว
2. สนับสนุนให้มีการเพาะและขยายพันธ์ทั้งปลาและปะการัง เพื่อลดและหลีกเลี่ยงจากการจับจากธรรมชาติ
3. มีการอบรมสัมมนาให้ความรู้ และความเข้าใจในระบบนิเวศน์ทั้งในระบบเปิดตามธรรมชาติ และในระบบปิด
4. มีการบำเพ็ญประโยชน์แก่สังคม การช่วยเหลือและบริจาคเงินและสิ่งของให้แก่สถานสงเคราะห์เด็กและคนชรา
5. ส่งเสริมการอนุรักษ์ ในแนวทางการใช้ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติทางทะเลอย่างรู้คุณค่า
6. ทำให้เกิดความเข้าใจในการเลี้ยงและเพาะพันธุ์สิ่งมีชีวิตจากทะเลอย่างถูกวิธี
7. เพื่อให้ความรู้กับบุคคลทุกระดับว่าปลาและสัตว์ทะเลหลายชนิด สามารถเพาะและขยายันธุ์ได้ในระบบปิด

1. To exchange knowledge and experience in keeping marines.
2. Support the ?tank raised? or ?captive bred? livestock to decrease the capture of wild marine fish and damage of the reef.
3. Arranged a seminar to help educated people about the nature and in our system.
4. Providing community service. Helping and contributing to the child centers and Old people's homes
5. Creating and sharing awareness of the ecological damage and preservation of our reefs
6. Help people to understand the correct way of keeping and breeding marine life.
7. Provide information on how to breed and propogate fish and corals.
