I live in phuket and will be up next week for various items. Can anyone recommend a good shop in BKK that has a good selection of lights and approximate prices of the 4' bulbs. Time to change my lights down here.

Khap Khun Khrap,

Jeff

You can find the blubs at seasun aquarium as our sponsor shop.
More info., you can go down forums section to Siam Reef Club's Sponsor and findout the shop location.

Thanks. For some reason the forum software did not show that there was a reply to my post, even though I requested one, so now I am in Bangkok this weekend and will be here next week also, I was wondering if any or all of the forum sponsors have what I need.

Cheers,

Jeff

P.S. If anyone is looking to buy a blacktip reef shark or two, I have had mine for two years and now want to change to another type of setup. These blacktips eat shrimp, squid, hoy or live fish if you want to have a great show. They are currently in my 8000 litre aquarium and enjoying life.

What type of actinic light are you using? T5, T5HO, VHO, T8, T12?

I would recommend World Wide Reef, Sawasdee Dynamic and Seasun Aquarium.

I can't remember what type of lights as I bought them 3 years ago in the states, but I'm looking to get dark blue/purple color as I don't have any corals or carpets that need a specific spectrum. Currently I only have two reef sharks and a 1 metre plus tessalata eel.

Thanks for the recommendations.

Cheers,

Jeff

If you cannot remember what type of your lights, you should bling your old sample blub to the shop too.

My tank isn't a reef tank, but rather a shark tank so I'm not so particular on the bulbs, but rather the color (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) .

Hey Jeff,

Why don't you take a photo of your current bulbs so that we can better help you?

For the various type of bulbs, all the Sponsors that khun parishilton mentioned will be able to help you somewhat, but I would advise that you check for its availability first once you know what you are looking for.

For anything a little more exotic or unusual, you could contact khun Peg or khun Toon from The Ocean, another one of our Sponsors, as khun Peg has a shipping company so he will be able to get pretty much anything for you.

Lastly, if you are looking for anything specifucally from the US, it would do no harm to contact khun V, Marine Playground, as he specialises in importing equipment from the US. Likewise, if what you are looking for can be found in Singapore, Hong Kong, or Malaysia, khun Ton (tonkit), of Reef Zaleng, will be your man.

Hi there Jeff,

I don't dare propose my opinion as all experts senior had given it to you already, but I do interested about the tessalata eel. Where did you get it and how to take care of it ??

thanks in advance

cheers,
